The Hy-Vee IronKids U.S. Championship youth triathlon will take place Saturday in West Des Moines, IA as scheduled. However, unseasonably cold temperatures have forced race organizers to make one change in the event. Instead of the usual swim-bike-run format, athletes will forego the swim portion of the event and instead complete a run-bike-run course. More than 1,200 athletes ages 6-15 from 35 states, Mexico and Canada will be vying for national titles -- wish them luck!
