Just as the Hy-Vee Triathlon has always been, this race is open to anyone wanting to participate. Whether you are a first time triathlete or a veteran to the sport! There is no qualification process to race in this event, simply follow the link above to register or download the entry form here.

Individual (Age Group)
Age Groups represented at the Hy-Vee Triathlon are as follows:

35 – 39

Age Group Elite
Athletes may wish to compete in the Age Group Elite division at the Hy-Vee Triathlon. In order to race in the Age Group Elite division at the Hy-Vee Triathlon, an athlete must submit to firstname.lastname@example.org a link to results to an Olympic distance triathlon within the past 12 months showing a finish of sub 2:15 for men and sub 2:30 for women.
At this time, paratriathletes compete at the Hy-Vee Triathlon only against other paratriathletes of the same gender regardless of paratriathlon category.
The Hy-Vee Triathlon allows women to compete in the Athena division which is an optional weight-based category. Female competitors must weight 165 lbs or over in order to compete in this division. Athletes registered as an Athena will be weighed at packet pickup. Women competing in the Athena division will be timed in two age-based sub-divisions: 39 & Under and 40 & Over.
The Hy-Vee Triathlon allows men to compete in the Clydesdale division which is an optional weight-based category. Male competitors must weight 220 lbs or over in order to compete in this division. Athletes registered as a Clydesdale will be weighed at packet pickup. Men competing in the Clydesdale division will be timed in two age-based sub-divisions: 39 & Under and 40 & Over.
Relay teams may be comprised of two or three athletes to complete the swim, bike and run portions of the race or a combination thereof. Teams divisions are male, female or co-ed team. All athletes on a relay team must be 15 years old as of 12/31/2014.
HY-VEE 5150 U.S. CHAMPIONSHIP
Athletes finishing in the top fifteen of their division (Age Group Elite, Age Group, Athena, Clydesdale, ParaTriathlete & Relay) at the 2014 Hy-Vee Triathlon will qualify for the 2015 Hy-Vee 5150 US Championship race. Registration Process for Qualified Athletes
After the 2014 Hy-Vee Triathlon, athletes who qualified for the 2015 Hy-Vee 5150 US Championship will be contacted with specific information on registering for the Championship Race.
