Qualifications Outline

  • Beginning with Miami International Triathlon on March 13, 2011, professional athletes will earn points for the 2011 Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship qualifying correlating to their finish position.
  • The top 25 male and top 25 female pros in the 5150 PR at the end of Qualifying Period will qualify to race in the 2011 Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship. 5150 PR scoring
  • An athlete’s three highest scoring Races will count toward their 5150 PR.
  • Athletes may accumulate points from any 5150 events, worldwide during the qualifying period.
  • Athletes finishing the 2011 Hy-Vee 5150 U.S. Championship will be awarded points that are retained and carried forward to the 2012 qualifying period and can be included as one of the athlete’s scoring races in the following year’s scoring.
  • All points scored in the 2011 qualifying period may not carry forward to the following qualifying year.

Transportation

Free shuttle bus transportation will be provided for all elite athletes, coaches and managers from the Des Moines International Airport to the host hotel (Embassy Suites - On the River).

Hy-Vee Auction: 6:00 p.m. - Hy-Vee Conference Center
For those of you who plan to attend the auction, a bus will pick you up from Embassy Suites and take you to the Hy-Vee Conference Center at 5:30 p.m. A bus will take you back to the hotel at 8:00 p.m.

Hotel Arrangements

Hy-Vee will offer complimentary rooms to the top elite 30 male and top 30 female athletes qualified and entered into the Hy-Vee 5150 Elite Cup. Race Management will provide these rooms at our host hotel for 3 nights each, with only room and tax charges being covered.
