Exercising Your Character

Welcome To Our Event

Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 10:30a.m. - 12:00 noon.

Exercising Your Character, a program for fourth- and fifth-graders that combines physical activity with motivational messages, takes place in downtown Des Moines. The event is a partnership between our company, Hy-Vee, Inc., Character Counts! and the Iowa Sports Foundation’s Go the Distance Day, a one-day program that raises awareness of youth inactivity.

The mission of Exercising Your Character is simple: Get kids moving by showing them that physical activity can be fun and eating healthy isn’t hard. The atmosphere of the two-hour program is electric, filled with music, dancing, aerobic exercise, and inspirational speeches from athletes, coaches, and other role models. Adult or child, it’s hard to stand still when thousands of footsteps and giggles fill the room. The message hits home—physical activity is fun—and we are a bit closer to our goal of a healthier Iowa!

Hy-Vee’s support of EYC is just one example of our long-standing commitment to the health and well-being of our customers and communities throughout the Midwest. Among our many other efforts, we offer the services of in-store dietitians, the NuVal Nutritional Scoring System, consumer and employee wellness programs, and the annual Hy-Vee Triathlon, a weekend of fun events for families and athletes.

At Hy-Vee, we believe that if we can make a difference, we should.
