Exercising Your Character (279)
It was a morning of adrenaline-rushing excitement at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines May 2 as 4,000 students from across Iowa gathered for “Exercising Your Character.” The event was an initiative of the Iowa Sports Foundation’s “Go the Distance Day,” CHARACTER COUNTS! and the Hy-Vee BG ITU World Cup Triathlon. Three Olympic athletes cheered on the students as they touched their toes, ran in place, twisted, shouted and danced their way to better fitness. If you were a participant, check out the photo gallery and send postcards to friends and family to show them how much fun you had learning about exercise, healthy eating habits and good sportsmanship. Thanks to all the schools that participated!
