Her first tri was done with a bike that her father in law borrowed, and yet she was hooked.
Inspired by her friend’s “crazy workouts” Anne thought all of the training sounded like more fun than just running.
A bike with a bell and huge mountain bike tires got her through her first triathlon. She was visiting her in-laws in Arizona and signed up for a tri. Her father in law borrowed the bike and the rest is history!
The Huxley, Iowa native attended Wartburg and Washington University in St. Louis, has been doing triathlons since 2007, and now works as a Physical Therapist at Mary Greeley in Ames.
Milk and cereal are a part of her must have pre-race meal along with a banana.
Her most vivid memory of Hy-Vee is the race a few years ago when a monsoon overtook Raccoon River Park. She remembers everyone being “buddied up and hunkered down” when the storm rolled through.
