Jeff Spencer

A PB&J and a kiss from his wife are the fuel that gets Jeff Spencer ready for race days.

After doing the swim portion of a sprint tri in minutes Jeff knew his next goal was to complete an entire race. His friends were doing a relay and asked him to swim, he knew he was hooked after that.

“The Long Dam Swim” is a relay swim Jeff set up on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas. 60 people signed up to swim a one mile leg, and at the end of the 22 hour adventure they all jumped in and had a group swim for the last mile to the dam.

Hearing “You are an Ironman” after he finished the Florida Ironman was Jeff’s most memorable finish.

“Frogger” moments during the swim have been made much easier by Jeff’s six years of playing water polo. He also always tries to touch a pros toes in the water if he can.

Being able to train with his wife makes the grueling process much easier. She is a triathlete is well so they are able to support and motivate each other – “Triathlon is our thing!” he says. Register for the event Volunteer for the event
