Lou is from Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Columbia University School of Business. He has been participating in triathlons for 5 years now. The reason why he decided to join the triathlon lifestyle is because he wanted to cross train. Some of Lou’s interests include weight training and yoga, and he is an Eagle Scout.
Lou’s most memorable finish was his first DNF this year at a triathlon in Iowa (Siouxperman). The reasoning behind his decision was because it was freezing cold, windy and raining.
His best event is biking. Some of the ways that he prepares for his race are by having a pre-race meal that includes water, yogurt, turkey, and a banana.
Lou believes that the best time to train is at 4:30am because he gets a head start on the world while everyone is still sleeping. He says he is gaining the edge on the competition. His favorite part of the Hy-Vee Triathlon is participating in it with friends. He is looking forward to having fun and watching his wife race in the Championship.
