Mark Taussig

Mark’s 10th event in four season of triathlons will be Labor Day Weekend – and he’s pretty excited for it.

Mark is a landscape architect for Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

He enjoys participating in triathlons and hopes that this year at the 2013 Hy-Vee Triathlon he will place 1st in his age group.

His oldest son challenged him to participate in triathlons and they often compete together in races. Mark has been a runner most of his life and did not have much experience with triathlons before he got his start. His most memorable race was when he placed 2nd in his age group in his first triathlon using a girl’s bike. He was addicted to triathlons after that race.

One orange and one banana the morning of the race are musts for Mark, and he always has pasta the night before.

He loves to train in the morning for run and bike and then swim over the noon hour. He does not like training in the evenings just because he is too tired to push it. Register for the event Volunteer for the event
