Pam has been doing triathlons for four years and prides herself on living each day to the fullest with family and friends.
Pam graduated from The University of Colorado – Boulder with a degree in psychology. She then went on to get her Masters in Physical Education/Sports Psychology at The University of Northern Iowa.
She loves competing in the Hy-Vee Triathlon because of the organization throughout. She loves all the free giveaways from vendors who look to take a lighter load back home.
Pam started competing in triathlons after a friend recommended them. Her friend knew it would be right up her alley because she is so knowledgeable about all of the events incorporated in triathlons.
Being a physical education teacher at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville causes her to be active all year round. She teaches yoga, pilates, strength training, and various aerobic classes including Zumba, dance, and gymnastics. In addition to competing in the Hy-Vee Triathlon this year, she also is looking forward to the New York Marathon in November.
Pasta with chicken and salad are her staple foods the night before a race. She always eats oatmeal the day of a race and sometimes a banana depending on if it is a longer race.
Falls beauty makes it the easiest season to train, while harsh winters make it much more difficult.
