Susan graduated from the University of Kansas and works in Special Education at the elementary school level. She enjoys triathlon, reading, crochet, and hanging out with family and friends.
After the Hy-Vee Triathlon she is signed up for two running races. She enjoys running along with training for triathlons.
Her most memorable finish came at the Kansas 5150. She wanted to drop out but her training partner Erin pushed her until the end. Erin ended up climbing a monster hill on her bike to encourage Susan to the end, and she was able to drag herself over the finish line!
Susan enjoys the silence of the water the most during the races. She likes when her stroke is just right and she has good rhythm.
Although she enjoys training in the morning, with work that doesn’t always happen. Sometimes she is forced into working out in the late afternoon which is a lot harder.
She hopes to be healthy and race well, rather than sick as a dog like last year!
